AND THE WINNERS ARE…

INTRODUCTION BY MICHELLE THEALL

EACH YEAR, we invite readers to submit their best images in four different categories to be entered into our annual photo contest. We get thousands of submissions from all corners of the globe depicting adventures, daily life, wildlife, and landscapes from the Last Frontier. Our selection process takes into account several different aspects, including technical excellence, composition, lighting, authenticity, and the level of difficulty for obtaining the shot. Remote locations, unique activities, and fast-moving subjects pique our interest. And yet, the final decisions remain one of the more difficult things our editors must do each year. We hope you’ll agree that the photographers featured here have captured Alaska with stunning and arresting work. After much deliberation, we’re pleased to present to you this year’s winning images.
